GETS OVER 14 YEARS IN PRISON
On May 1, JS (57) of Pittsburgh was sentenced to 14 years and seven months in prison after a jury (back in November 2023) found him guilty of “one count of possessing child pornography and one count of accessing with the intent to view child pornography.”
Apparently, on two occasions, JS was found to have possessed and accessed images and to have “deepfaked,” or digitally superimposed, the faces of child actors onto nude bodies and bodies engaged in sex acts.
While awaiting trial, he also is said to have violated his conditions of release by accessing prohibited images (as detected by monitoring software installed on his phone).
The sentencing announcement was made by Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Nicole M. Argentieri, head of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division; U.S. Attorney Eric G. Olshan for the Western District of Pennsylvania; and Special Agent in Charge Kevin Rojek of the FBI Pittsburgh Field Office.
No deepfaking that.
