ILLEGALLY USED PITBULLS FOR "DOG FIGHTING"

TWO NEW JERSEY MEN FACE UP TO 10 YEARS IN PRISON AND $250,000 FINE

In mid-December, two New Jersey residents, TJW and JLN, were charged with allegedly participating in a dog fighting ring and are said to have trained, transported and possessed pit-bulls for “dog fighting” over the course of a two year period; all in violation of the federal Animal Welfare Act.

They not only housed and trained animals for that illicit purpose, but they supposedly engaged in various forms of animal torture, including hanging “underperforming fighting dogs.” (TJW is also charged with “unlawful possession of ammunition.”)

If convicted, the men face up to a decade in prison, and a $250,000 fine.

An indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

This is likely going to dog those two guys for a while.
