ROCHESTER RESEARCH COORDINATOR WANTED TO CONDUCT “LONE WOLF” ATTACKS
On August 25, 2023, a Pakistani doctor (31) who was serving as a “research coordinator” at a medical clinic up in Rochester, New York, was sentenced to 216 months in prison for “attempting to provide material support to a terrorist organization.”
The physician is alleged to have traveled oversees to join a terrorist group, pledged his allegiance to the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS), and expressed a willingness to conduct “‘lone wolf’ attacks in the United States.’”
The man was arrested back in March of 2020, pleaded guilty on August 16, 2022, and was sentenced a little over a year later to a lengthy prison term by Senior Judge Paul A. Magnuson, of the United States District Court of Minnesota.
Did that make him a wolf in medical clothing?
