This Friday, in advance of World No Tobacco Day (Saturday, May 31), HHS will be launching a #WorldNoTobaccoDay Thunderclap.
Every year, in the United States alone, nearly half a million people die from smoking. And if we don't reduce current smoking rates in the U.S., nearly 5.6 million children alive today will die early from smoking. Help us support an America – and a world – without smoking. Together we can make the next generation tobacco-free.

- What is a Thunderclap? A "Thunderclap" is an online campaign put together that allows a single message to be mass-shared all at once via social networks including Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr so that the message and action rises above the social media clutter on online networks.
- How to join the Thunderclap: Visit our 'World No Tobacco Day' Thunderclap campaign page here. Then choose how you want to support it (Twitter, Facebook and/or Tumblr). You can choose any combination of networks. Click on the network button to sign up.
- How to share & amplify the Thunderclap: We need your help to share the Thunderclap – the more people join and become engaged, the more success we will have in amplifying the #WorldNoTobaccoDay message.
