NO PHONES ON PLANES

Lucas,

Cancellations.

Missed connections.

Never-ending lines.

The indignities of security checkpoints.

Random fees conjured up seemingly every week.

Less leg room.

Air travel just isn't very pleasant these days.

But this could seem like the golden age of air travel if the Federal Communications Commission does what it's thinking about doing.

Add your name to our petition urging federal regulators NOT to allow cell phone calls on airplanes.

For years, the government has prohibited cell phone use on planes for fear of interference with essential communications. But with technological improvements, that is no longer a concern.

So, a week from today, the Federal Communications Commission is meeting to consider lifting the longtime ban on cell phone use during flights.

Even if cell phone calls on airplanes are not a safety risk, do we really want to put up with them along with all the other aggravations of flying today?

If being stuck in a metal tube miles above the earth amid the cacophony of other passengers' phone calls sounds dreadful to you, sign the petition right now.

Texting? Fine.

Email? Great.

Internet? Be my guest.

But phone calls? Please just wait until we're all back on terra firma.

Let's mobilize for a little peace and quiet.

Tell the Federal Communications Commission: Continue prohibiting cell phone calls on airplanes.

Thank you for joining me in taking action.
