A BIT TOO SLIPPERY?

While boarding a JetBlue aircraft, Valerie Guntur slipped and fell on some "wet icy dirt."

When the airline's request to dismiss Guntur's personal-injury case was later granted by the New York County Supreme Court, the lady appealed but the Appellate Division, First Department, declined to modify the outcome.

Because the accident occurred during an "ongoing storm," any duty to address dangerous conditions was "suspended." (It didn't help Guntur's case that the airline had undertaken what the court viewed as "reasonable precautions" under the circumstances—such as placing a carpet runner on the jetbridge and using a canopy.)

That one flew away.
