Last week. at this time, I was backstage at the Democratic National Convention rehearsing my speech with Leader Nancy Pelosi and other distinguished Democratic Women of the House. On Tuesday last week, I was deeply honored and truly proud to take the stage in support of our President.

I stood up and asked, "Where are the Women?" when my Republican colleagues held a hearing on birth control without allowing a single woman on the first witness panel to represent the millions of women across this great country. Last Tuesday, I concluded that the women were on our way to re-electing our President, President Barack Obama!
On September 24th, I'll be honoring six organizations that support women elected officials and candidates across the country at my annual Women for Carolyn event. I hope you can join me for what promises to be a great evening!
