Now young professionals have an outlet in which to build their craft. Governor Cuomo has launched a two-part program, the New New York Leaders Initiative: Empire State Fellows Program and the Student Intern Program. Together, young professionals and college students are allowed to learn and serve in New York State government. The program teaches fellows policy analysis, budget policy, local relationships, and other government related subjects. After completing the program, the fellows will be aware of how New York State government works and should be ready to work in an agency, or working towards an executive position in government.
