Yvette Collins, a flight attendant, was walking on a ramp which was in the vicinity of several parked airplanes. After a jet blast knocked her over and injured her, Collins sued Signature Flight Support Corporation (and others) in Westchester County Supreme Court.
In response to that ourt's denial of Signature's request to have the case knocked out, the Appellate Division, Second Department, reversed--because the company lacked the requisite nexus to the aircraft. (While it leased the ramp and provided services, such as fueling and de-icing, Signature didn't own, operate or control the plane that blasted the poor lady.)
Signature sure left its mark.
