KILLER CACTUS BALLS?

On September 11, 2025, Yiwu Shiyi Trading Co., Ltd. issued a recall for approximately 1,900 units of its Shierdu children’s wooden cactus toys due to a serious safety hazard. The toy, sold on Amazon between October 2022 and August 2025 for about $17, is intended for children under the age of three but contains small parts that pose a significant choking risk. This violates the federal small parts ban and could result in serious injury or death.

The recalled product is a 28-piece wooden building block set designed to resemble a cactus. It includes a natural wood base with holes and colorful peg-like segments in shades of yellow, green, blue, red, and gray. These pieces attach to one another to form a cactus structure. The packaging is labeled with the brand name “SHIERDU” and the model number “SY-016.”

Although no injuries have been reported, consumers are urged to stop using the toy immediately. To receive a full refund, they should dispose of the product and send a photo of the discarded item to the company via email at yizhao2025@outlook.com.

This recall serves as a reminder of the importance of age-appropriate design and strict adherence to safety regulations in children’s products. Parents and caregivers who purchased this toy should act promptly to ensure their child’s safety.

Just goes to show you, cactuses don't belong in a nursery.
