About the Film
Bibimbap for One follows Hana, a young woman grieving the recent loss of her mother, as she attempts to reconnect with her Korean heritage by preparing a traditional dish alone. Her quiet day is interrupted by Bernard, an elderly neighbor who seeks help after locking himself out. Through their unexpected interaction, Hana begins to confront her grief. The film delicately explores themes of memory, identity, and human connection through subtle performances and restrained storytelling. It’s a tender portrait of how even brief encounters can leave lasting emotional impact.
