A safety recall has been issued for Almpal’s Dissolved Oxygen Test Kits, sold on Amazon between May and August 2025. The kits, which include a bottle of sulfuric acid, were found to violate federal safety standards under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. Specifically, the acid was not packaged in child-resistant containers, posing a serious risk of poisoning to young children if ingested. Although no injuries have been reported, the potential for harm is significant, prompting immediate action.
Consumers who purchased these kits—approximately 470 units in total—are urged to secure them out of reach of children and contact Almpal for instructions on proper disposal and how to obtain a full refund. Refunds will be issued upon verification, which requires submitting a photo of the kit through Amazon’s messaging platform. Physical return of the product is not necessary. Only unexpired kits sold after May 2025 are officially included in the recall, but consumers are advised to dispose of all kits, expired or not, in accordance with local hazardous waste regulations.
The kits were distributed by Ningbo Leha E-Commerce Co., Ltd., a China-based company operating under the Amazon seller name Almpal. Each kit was packaged in a cream-colored box labeled “Dissolved Oxygen Test Kit,” with manufacturing details printed on the label. For further information, consumers can reach Almpal directly via email at lehapet@hotmail.com.
This recall was announced on October 2, 2025, under recall number 26-005.
