CONTAIN THIS CONTAINER!

Fueling Concern: Scepter B62 Containers Recalled for Playing with Fire (Literally)

If your fuel container is red, dual-chambered, and looks like it’s ready to star in an action movie, it might be time to retire it. Canada Prep and Ship has issued a recall for about 1,500 Scepter B62 gas and oil combination fuel containers due to a rather fiery personality—specifically, the lack of flame mitigation devices and child-resistant spouts.

What’s the issue?
These containers violate two major safety acts: the Portable Fuel Container Safety Act and the Children’s Gasoline Burn Prevention Act. Translation: they’re missing the tech that keeps flames in check, and the spouts aren’t childproof. That’s a dangerous combo—especially if your toddler thinks it’s a juice box.

What to look for:
The recalled units are red with black caps and yellow spouts, featuring dual chambers (6 liters for gas, 2.5 liters for oil). “Scepter” and “Gasoline Danger” are embossed on the side, and there’s a Fire Marshall stamp near the fuel spout—ironically, not enough to keep things cool.

What to do:
Consumers should stop using the containers immediately, stash them out of reach of curious hands, and contact Canada Prep and Ship for a full refund. You’ll need to write “Recalled” on the container with a permanent marker and send a photo of it in the trash to info@canadaprepandship.com. Yes, it’s a bit dramatic—but so is the risk.

No injuries have been reported, which means this is your chance to exit stage left before your fuel container tries to upstage your barbecue.
