When “Plush” Means Deadly
Inkari’s Plush Alpaca Toys have been recalled, and while they were meant to be the cuddliest companions, they’ve turned out to be more “alpaca‑lypse” than alpaca bliss. The issue? Their eyes can detach, creating small parts that pose a choking hazard for children under three. That’s not just fluff—it’s a violation of the federal small parts ban.
What’s affected:
- Five collections: Naturals, Baristas, Rainbow, Monsterfluffs, and Limited Edition
- Sizes: Mini (6"), Small (9"), Medium (12"), Large (19")
- Colors: White, ivory, browns, black, pink, purple, light blue, and mixed shades
- About 64,000 units sold between November 2020 and July 2025
Hazard: Detachable eyes = choking risk.
Remedy: Refund.
Recall Date: November 6, 2025.
Where they were sold: Specialty stores nationwide, plus Amazon, Etsy, and Inkari’s own site, priced between $25 and $100.
What to do:
