WHO NEEDS A ROLLERCOASTER ....

Consumer Safety Announcement: Apollo Electric Scooter Recall

Apollo Imports Inc. is voluntarily recalling select Apollo City 2024 model year electric scooters due to a structural defect that poses serious safety risks. Approximately 790 units are affected by this recall, which was officially issued on July 24, 2025.

A weld line on the scooter’s stem has been found to crack in some cases, leading to potential breakage and increasing the risk of falls and injuries. Apollo has received 10 reports of stem weld failure, including four incidents involving riders falling and one report of minor abrasions.

The scooters in question are dual-motor models with top speeds of up to 32 miles per hour, featuring a gray exterior with a headlight and rear brake light. The “Apollo” name is printed on the stem, and “Apollo City” is displayed on the rear-left grip tape. Affected serial numbers range from 4202240300001 to 4202240301236 and 4202240400001 to 4202240400764, located on the underside of the deck and also accessible via the Apollo App.

Consumers should stop using the affected scooters immediately. Apollo is offering a free replacement stem as a remedy and recommends having the stem professionally replaced at an authorized service location. These scooters were sold from June 2024 through April 2025 at Best Buy stores nationwide and online at ApolloScooters.co, Amazon.com, and BestBuy.com, retailing around $1,800.
