Positec Recalls 49,000 Chainsaws and Pole Saws Over Laceration Risk
On July 3, 2025, Positec Tool Corporation issued a nationwide recall of approximately 49,000 electric corded chainsaws and pole saws sold under the Hyper Tough, Worx, and Portland brands. The recall, announced in coordination with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, stems from a defect in the main power switch that may cause the saws to continue running even after the trigger is released—posing a serious laceration hazard.
