
VIVI E-Bike Batteries Recalled Over Fire Hazard: 24,000 Units Affected
VIVI E-Bikes has issued an urgent recall of its 36-volt lithium-ion batteries due to overheating risks that may lead to fire, burns, or even death. So far, there have been 14 reports of overheating, including three confirmed fires, prompting immediate action.
What’s the Issue?
The batteries—used across 15 different VIVI e-bike models—have shown a dangerous tendency to overheat. Riders are advised to stop using affected e-bikes immediately.
Affected Models Include:
C26, MT20, Z3, M026SH, H6, H7, MT26H, 26LGB, M026TGB, MT26G, FM20, F20, S3, Z1, Z2
(The model number is printed on the bike frame; battery number is on the battery casing.)
What to Do Now?
VIVI is offering free replacement batteries and chargers. Users must:
- Stop using affected batteries.
- Contact VIVI online at viviebikes.com/pages/recall or call 800-375-6103 (9 AM–5 PM ET)
- Dispose of old batteries at a household hazardous waste (HHW) facility—never in the trash or regular recycling.
