WHEN YOUR HAIR DRYER THINKS IT’S A TOASTER

DON'T EMPOWER THESE HAIR DRYERS!

In a precautionary move to protect consumer safety, Empower Brands has issued a recall of approximately 56,300 Remington hair dryers, model number D3190DCDN, due to a critical electrical hazard. These units, sold online through major retailers including Walmart Marketplace, Target Marketplace, and Amazon between March 2024 and June 2025, lack an essential safety feature known as an immersion protection device. Without this safeguard, the hair dryers pose a serious risk of electrocution or fatal shock if they come into contact with water while plugged in.

Though no injuries have been reported to date, the potential consequences are severe enough to warrant immediate action. Consumers are urged to stop using the product immediately and unplug it from any power source. To receive a full refund, users must submit a photo of the hair dryer with its power cord cut in half via the recall registration portal at https://www.remingtonproducts.com/product-recalls, and follow the disposal instructions provided.

The recalled units are identifiable by their purple casing with black accents, three black operating buttons on the handle, and the “Remington” logo printed in white on the side. Each unit measures approximately 8.5 inches long, 11.6 inches high, and 3.6 inches wide, weighing about 1.5 pounds.

This recall serves as a reminder of the importance of electrical safety in household appliances, particularly those used near water. Empower Brands and Spectrum Brands Inc., the importer, are working to ensure affected consumers are fully reimbursed and informed. For further assistance, consumers can contact Empower Brands toll-free at 1-844-695-2134 or email HairdryerRecall@Spectrumbrands.com.

Safety should never be compromised, especially in everyday products. If you own this model, take action now to protect yourself and your household.

HOT AIR.  HOT MESS.
