THESE HALOLOCK POWER BANKS AIN'T ANGELIC

ESR HaloLock Wireless Power Banks: RECALLED

On August 14, 2025, Waymeet Limited issued a recall for ESR HaloLock Wireless Power Banks due to a serious safety hazard. The lithium-ion batteries in these devices can overheat and ignite, posing a risk of fire and burns to consumers. Approximately 24,000 units were sold in the United States, with an additional 9,900 distributed in Canada.

The recall affects three specific models: 2G520, 2G505B, and 2G512B. These power banks were sold in dark blue, light blue, gray, white, and black, and feature five circular LED display lights on one side. The model number is printed on the right side of the device, and “ESR” is printed on the back.

Consumers who purchased these products between September 2023 and July 2025 from Amazon.com, Homedepot.com, or Esrtech.com should stop using them immediately. Although no injuries have been reported, there have been nine incidents of the batteries catching fire or exploding, resulting in property damage totaling approximately $20,000.

To receive a full refund, consumers should contact Waymeet by calling 888-990-0280 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday, or by emailing support@esrtech.com. Consumers will be asked to provide a photo of the recalled power bank showing the model number with the word “Recalled” written on it in permanent marker. An order number may be submitted but is not required.

Consumers must dispose of the recalled power banks in accordance with local and state hazardous waste disposal regulations. These devices should not be placed in household trash, curbside recycling bins, or standard battery recycling boxes. Instead, consumers should contact their municipal Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection center to confirm whether it accepts recalled lithium-ion batteries. If not, they should seek further guidance from their local municipality.
