
Drinkmate 1-Liter Carbonation Bottles: RECALLED
On August 14, 2025, Drinkmate, Inc. announced a recall of certain 1-liter carbonation bottles due to a serious safety hazard. These bottles can explode during use, posing risks of impact injuries, lacerations, and hearing damage to users and bystanders. Approximately 106,200 units were sold in the United States, with an additional 5,000 distributed in Canada.
The recall applies to Drinkmate 1-liter PET carbonation bottles with expiration dates ranging from January 2026 through October 2026. The expiration date is printed on the side of the bottle. These bottles feature a clear plastic body with colored caps and bases in red, blue, white, or black. They were sold both individually and as part of Drinkmate OmniFizz starter kits.
Consumers who purchased these bottles between April 2023 and October 2024 from iDrinkproducts.com, Walmart.com, Amazon.com, Target.com, or HomeDepot.com should stop using them immediately. Drinkmate has received eight reports of bottles exploding during use, including four incidents resulting in injuries such as cuts, blunt force trauma, and hearing damage.
To receive a free replacement bottle, consumers should visit idrinkproducts.com/pages/drinkmate-safety-recall-of-1l-pet-bottles and complete the replacement form. They will be asked to upload a photo of the recalled bottle with the word “Recall” written on it in permanent marker. Once submitted, consumers will receive a code to order a replacement bottle through Drinkmate’s website, with shipping included.
