SUNDERLAND SHORTS FILM FESTIVAL, which is now in its 8th year, showcases “the best short films from around the World and across the country, while championing homegrown talent.”

Currently underway, from October 16-22, the festivities are taking place at venues across Sunderland City Centre (UK).

TWOFOLD — written by Toto Bruin and directed by Ella Greenwood, a Forbes “30 Under 30” honoree — is among the projects that have been selected to screen.

In this film, as New Year’s Eve festivities are underway above them, our protagonists have a chance encounter. But when they recognize each other from over a decade prior, fireworks ensue — with the story tackling such themes as love, deception, abuse of power, and lack of consent.
