Fom November 17-21, DERBY FILM FESTIVAL is offering five nights of “special guests, one-off events, and previews.” (This year, they’re spotlighting the work of British screenwriter Nigel Kneale — known for the 1950’s sci-fi classic, Quatermass.)

SLAVE TO THE PAGE, a thriller written and directed by Ravi Ghelani, and produced by Abdullah Khan, will also be shown.

In this story, we track an obsessed fan who kidnaps a famous writer. Combining comedy and suspense, such themes as mental illness, racial and ethnic stereotyping, misrepresentation in the media, and the dangers of celebrity worship, are tackled.
