We decided to start with “LA CLASSICA” — a pizza made with “Sottosale tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, basil & oregano” ($11).
While the price was certainly right — (after all, where can you get an $11 pie ... in Miami, of all places?) — the texture and taste were a bit off, with a guest remarking that the crust tasted “like white-bread.” The sauce lacked an intense tomato flavor, and the mozzarella cheese was surprisingly bland. (Maybe the latter weren’t the freshest?)
Since this was no way to show me (or my friends) the love, we scored this “mother” a “C.”
(I thought it deserved lower, but was outvoted. The reasonable price point is what barely saved it from a “C-.”)
