There are two controversies raging in the Puerto Rican community today: the Oscar Lopez Rivera issue with the National Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City, and the upcoming plebscite on the political status of Puerto Rico.
This current NiLP survey seeks to get the opinions of both Puerto Rican and non-Puerto Rican Latinos on these issues. For Puerto Ricans in the diaspora, these are issues for which no serious polling exists. Among other Latinos, it would be useful to see how interested and well-informed they are about Puerto Rican-specific issues.
