NATIONAL SECURITY @ STAKE?

Michael Flynn's resignation over his communication with Russia raises more questions than it answers, and we need to get to the bottom of it.

Lucas --

Not only have we learned more about Michael Flynn's secret contacts with Russia, but we also learned that Donald Trump was aware his National Security Advisor was lying and he still chose not to act. At least, not until it became a PR problem.

This is a time to put country before politics. Nothing less than the national security of this country is at stake.

It's time for Republicans to stand aside and support a full investigation into the Trump team's ties to Russia. Will you join us in calling for an independent investigation?

The truth is, Michael Flynn's resignation raises more questions than it answers.

Did this Trump loyalist really go rogue and reach out to the Russians to discuss U.S. sanctions without consulting his superiors?

Did Russia really believe General Flynn had full authority to speak for the Trump administration? Or was Moscow in contact with other Trump officials?

After the Justice Department warned the White House three weeks ago that Flynn could be compromised by a foreign power, how could other officials remain in the dark about Flynn's conversations with Russia?

And most importantly, what did President Trump know and when did he know it?

Lucas, will you add your name to stand with Senate Democrats who are calling for an independent investigation into Trump's connections with Russia?

At a minimum, this affair shows that the White House chain of command is alarmingly unprepared to guard our national security. But darker still, it raises the possibility that Flynn is a scapegoat who resigned to protect others who were fully aware of his actions.

In either case, the American people deserve immediate action to know.

Will you add your name to stand with us?
