BEATING BILL de BLASIO

Lucas -

According to news reports, the head of the New York State Republican Party was given "an assignment" in a recent phone call with President Donald Trump.

To beat Bill de Blasio.

So far, we have endured more than $13 million in attack ads from powerful special interests, with others pledging millions more to come. Now President Trump is taking aim at the mayor, too.

That’s fine. Mayor de Blasio is focused on the work you expect of him right now: stopping the effort to take away health care from 1.5 million New York City residents, protecting immigrant families from being broken up, and ensuring all women have access to the health care they need.

But while the mayor does that, it’s so important that we all play a part in lifting up this campaign. Because the threat of the largest and most diverse city in America being run by the party of Trump is too terrifying to consider. That’s why I have to ask:

Make a $175 contribution to Mayor de Blasio’s re-election campaign as a way of standing up to Donald Trump and the Republican Party’s efforts to stop our progress and take New York City backward. As a NYC resident, your contribution of up to $175 is matched six to one.

Last week, we reported that we received more individual contributions in a single reporting period than any candidate in more than two decades. What we are doing in this election, and through your contribution, is proving that when people come together and take action, anything is possible. Even stopping Donald Trump.

All my best,

Elana Leopold
