HOTTEST YEAR ON RECORD?

Have you heard that last year was the hottest on record?

Lucas, have you heard that last year was the hottest on record?

I’ve made sure that my colleagues in the Senate have. With 158+ weekly Senate speeches on climate change, I’ve been a broken record on the serious threat of global warming -- and so has the entire scientific community.

Donald Trump has access to the same news we have, but his administration just introduced a budget that would cut 31% of the budget and thousands of jobs at the Environmental Protection Agency. He’s so allergic to facts that Trump’s budget even proposes cutting the NOAA, which runs our national weather service and researches how to help communities adapt to rising temperatures.

It’s nearly inconceivable that, despite the scientific consensus around the catastrophe of climate change, a climate antagonist is at the helm of the EPA -- and the agency’s future is in jeopardy.

As The Washington Post says, "almost no other federal department or agency is as much in the crosshairs" as the EPA. Of all the destructive policies of Trump’s administration, this crusade against the environment may end up being the most irreversible.

I want to make sure my colleagues in the Senate know that grassroots supporters are watching -- and are ready to fight this budget AND stand up for the environment.

Will you take a moment to get your opposition to these EPA cuts on the record? Add your name:

Thanks for your time -- and for staying engaged in the fight for our planet.
