Lucas, Governor Cuoma can and must allocate funds in the state budget to
fix the voting system in New York. Currently New York’s system does
not allow for early voting or automatic voter registration. What it does
allow is even worse: unlimited direct campaign contributions in New York
through the creation of multiple limited liability corporations.
New York voting laws are so bad that North Carolina’s attorney —
in trying to justify that state’s blatant voter suppression measures,
which were found by a federal court to “target African Americans
with almost surgical precision” — noted that New York’s
laws were even more restrictive.
Can you call Governor Andrew Cuomo and let him know you, his constituent,
wants to see funds allocated to fixing the broken voting system in New York?
