Dear Friend,
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Darryl Glenn. I am a father, an
Air Force veteran, a Christian, and...
...I’m the Democrat Party’s worst nightmare!
Why is that, you ask?
Because I am a black conservative Republican and the official Republican
nominee for the #1 Senate seat in America.
Running for Senate was not an easy decision for me. I know that this will
be the fight of my life.
That’s why I’m writing you today with an urgent plea from
the bottom of my heart.
You see, I am a conservative -- full stop. I believe in the value of hard
work, personal responsibility, taking home more of what you earn, and
the sanctity of human life.
For many years, the Democrat Party has been selling the black community
a bill of goods. They’ve been making worthless promises to entire
generations of people.
And though Obama didn’t start it, he sure as heck ramped it up.
I’m tired of the lies and broken promises. I intend to hold Obama
and the Democrats accountable for their manifest failures in this election,
and that terrifies them.
In the coming months, there are some things I must accomplish in order
to win this critical race and keep the U.S. Senate in Republican hands.
But before I do any of them, I had to write you.
You see, I need your help.
So please bear with me. It’s not easy for me to write you a letter
like this. I’m not a professional politician.
I am an Air Force veteran who has had the honor of serving our country
in uniform for 21 years. I have a wonderful family I’m grateful
for--two daughters. I have run a small business since 1999. And I’ve
been elected four times as county commissioner in El Paso County, Colorado.
I am grateful for the life I have, and the easy thing for me would be
to just continue to enjoy it. But I can’t do that. I feel compelled
to take on this important challenge at this time when my country needs me...
...because I’ve had it with the Democrat Party and the extreme liberal
activists that run it.
The policies that they’ve been advocating for the past 60 years
have not helped black Americans one bit. Trust me on one thing, my friend:
They don’t like me saying this kind of thing. And they will stop
at nothing to silence me...
This is why I’m hoping you will join with me today.
Specifically, I need to know if you’ll help out my campaign with
a contribution of at least $35 in the next 5 days.
Please know that it’s very hard for me to ask you to make a sacrifice
like this.
Simply put, I hate asking people for money. It’s what I dislike
most about being a candidate.
But in order to run the kind of race I must to win, I need the help of
conservatives just like you.
So if you can help me out with $35 today, I would be most grateful.
If you can help with a larger gift of $50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000 or
$2,700, I ask that you please consider doing that. I promise, I’ll use this money wisely.
Please know that as a fiscal conservative, I’m a strong believer
in getting the most “bang for your buck”...
...and that I’ll go on and make you proud as an outspoken conservative
in the U.S. Senate.
I know that being a black conservative, I have the ability to effectively
reach out to certain voters that other Republicans cannot. But I need
your help to do it.
It won’t be easy. I’m not taking on just any Democrat -- I’m
taking on Michael Bennet.
Bennet was the 60th vote for ObamaCare... strongly in favor of Obama’s
Iran deal selling out our national security... wants to grant Amnesty
to 12 million illegal aliens.
Bennet is also polling at just 43% for his re-election -- a number considered
well into the “political death zone.”
Though Bennet is a weak incumbent in the #1 Senate race in the country,
he’s still a formidable opponent because the Democrat Establishment
is backing him to the hilt.
He also has already raised more than 10 million dollars so far, and he’s
spending all that money to destroy me.
One of my friends jokingly told me that stepping into this race was like
deciding to “walk in and punch the biggest guy in the bar.”
He’s right--in a way, I have.
I’ll be very honest with you.
The Democrats’ terminally liberal policies have gravely injured
the family in America, both black and white.
They’ve fought to expand the size and reach of the federal government
through monstrosities like ObamaCare...
...they’ve stifled new job creation by taxing small businesses to
death so they can pay for more government programs that don’t help
anybody...
...and through the Welfare State, they’ve nearly driven black fathers
out of the home by creating an incentive for parents to break up.
My friend, for 60 years, Democrats have said they’re the “party
of the little guy.” They say Republicans don’t care about
anyone but the rich. They slander Republicans as racists. It’s all a lie.
It makes my blood boil -- which is part of why I’m running. Until
the Republican Party has credible black conservative members who can stand
up to groups like the Congressional Black Caucus and George Soros, we’ll
never be able to fight back like we should.
This is why I need your support today.
I’m personally asking you to help me in the next few days with a
special gift of $35, $50, $100 -- or if you can -- even as much as $250,
$500, $1,000 or $2,700.
Please know that it’s only with the help of conservatives like you
that I’ll be able to defeat my liberal opponent Michael Bennet.
Democrat Michael Bennet has been in the U.S. Senate just one term, but
he’s wasted no time showing that he does whatever the radical wing
of his party tells him to.
He’s been especially bad on issues like taxes, illegal immigration,
the Second Amendment, and the Iran deal. Bennet was the key 60th vote
that passed ObamaCare.
And with health insurance prices spiking in Colorado up to 40.6% just
this year, voters are very angry.
Far-left positions like these have made my opponent very vulnerable. He’s
totally out of touch with the people of Colorado.
My friend, I would not be writing you this letter unless I honestly knew
I could win this race.
The fact is, this is the best chance for a Republican to defeat a Democrat
Senator in 2016.
But I simply can’t do this without your immediate help of at least
$35 today.
Michael Bennet is completely beholden to the most radical wing of the
Democrat Party.
They own him. If you’ll help me, I’ll run a campaign that
exposes just how left-wing my opponent really is...
...and I’ll get my message of common sense conservatism out to the
voters in Colorado and win this election.
To get that done, I must have your help of $2,700, $1,000, $500, $250,
$100, $50 or $35 today.
Believe me, any amount you feel comfortable with will help me.
Finally, I want you to know how grateful I am that you have read this
letter and let me share a little bit of my heart with you.
I hope after reading this, you understand how important it is for our
party to help elect black conservatives who will go to Washington and
clean house.
