Dear Lucas,
In her years of teaching elementary school in Baltimore, Carolyn Miles
has seen a lot of hungry children come through her classroom. She’s
seen students carefully save portions of snacks — cookies or graham
crackers — so they’ll have something, however pitiful, as
a meal later.
She remembers one student in particular, a young girl who tucked away
some of her snack and said that she wanted to take some home to her little sister.
"It broke my heart," said Carolyn.
"Because that meant the little sister’s at home hungry."
I know you will agree that leftover snacks are not enough to feed a hungry
child. We can do better for our nation’s kids.
Will you join The Hunger Core, our monthly giving club, to do what you
can to help feed hungry kids? A donation of just $10 a month can provide
a child with up to 100 meals every month.
Kids need year-round support from the effective programs that our supporters
make possible.
The best way to offer that consistent support is to join our monthly giving
club, The Hunger Core. It’s safe, quick, and convenient. You can
cancel or adjust your monthly amount at any time.
Every meal makes a difference.
Thank you so much,
Amy Zganjar
