Dear Friend,
As you and your family prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, I wanted to
take this opportunity to thank you. Your thoughtful engagement and generous
support means so much to me. I could not do this job, or fight for the
causes we believe in, without you.
Thanks to your support, I was able to win my bid to continue representing
New York’s 12th congressional district and did so with the largest
vote total of anyone in New York state running for a House seat. I am
so humbled by, and appreciative of, that strong support.
However, many people are still so deeply affected by the surprising results
of the 2016 Presidential election. I am right there with you. But, I am
also resolved to hold firm to the principles and beliefs that have guided
my efforts throughout a lifetime of work in public office. This great
country derives its strength from its diverse people and our diverse voices.
As we begin a new chapter in America’s history, I intend to make
sure all those voices are heard.
You have helped me earn a great privilege as a Member of the United States
House of Representatives and I give you my solemn promise that I will
do my utmost to earn that privilege anew, each and every day.
