Could you live on $290 a week? Could you afford housing, food, healthcare, or tuition on that much money? What about supporting a family or saving for the future?
That’s what workers making the federal minimum wage have to live on.
The federal minimum wage is currently $7.25 an hour and hasn’t gone up since July 2009. Many minimum wage workers are forced to work multiple jobs, because one full-time job and that wage just isn’t enough.
It’s time we changed that.
Today I’m joining with some staunch allies to gather support for raising the minimum wage. I wanted to give all of you the opportunity to join us. Click here and add your name to support raising the minimum wage.
There is no reason that someone working a full-time job in America, putting in 110% every single day, shouldn’t be able to make ends meet.
Thank you for joining me today in calling for a raise to the federal minimum wage.
