How You Can Make a Difference in Stopping the Resettlement of Syrian Refugees
ACT for America has been on the front lines of the Syrian Refugee Resettlement issue for a long time. We are deeply concerned that not only was funding for the Refugee Resettlement Program not halted in the last funding bill, it was actually increased! This is unacceptable.
We must continue to be vocal about this critical national security issue — or we will soon face the same catastrophic situation we are witnessing throughout Europe.
Just a few simple steps taken by our 300,000 grassroots activists will make a difference. Can we count on you to do your part by taking the action noted below?
- Support Congressman Brian Babin’s (TX-36) bill, H.R. 3314, the Resettlement Accountability and National Security Act. Send a message of support for this important bill to your federal legislator. The number of co-sponsors of this legislation is at 84 and continues to increase as Members of Congress hear from their constituents back home — but every Member of Congress should be on the bill. We know you are very busy, so we’ve done all the work for you! All you have to do to send your message is fill in your information and hit “send.”
- Join the nearly 53,000 others who have signed our Open Letter to the leadership of the U.S. Congress expressing strong opposition to the resettlement of Syrian refugees.
- Join our Refugee Resettlement Working Group to continue to get educated about the Refugee Resettlement issue. Our last Working Group conference call was sold out and we will be scheduling more during the days to come — so you can learn the latest about what is going on with the Refugee Resettlement issue – both on Capitol Hill and in towns and communities across the nation.
- And, finally, be sure to pick up your copy of our Capitol Hill Briefing, “Implications of the Syrian Refugee Crisis”. The day before the Paris attack, ACT for America was on Capitol Hill talking about the dangers of Refugee Resettlement. The discussion was led by two experts on the extremely dangerous process, Ann Corcoran and Don Barnett, who spoke before a standing-room-only, packed room. As important as it is for Capitol Hill to understand our nation’s current Refugee Resettlement process, it is perhaps more important for you, the concerned citizen, to know this information -- so you can take action.

Everyone must be educated about the refugee issue and all that it entails
