Lucas,
In almost every state, politicians are allowed to draw Congressional districts
based on party lines.
The results have been CATASTROPHIC. Republicans have guaranteed themselves
a permanent majority and we have one of the most partisan and gridlocked
Congresses of all times.
Lucas, I truly believe our government is supposed to be by the people.
That’s why I’m leading the charge in Congress to require all
states to use independent commissions when drawing district lines.
Will you join me on this important issue?
This issue is personal for me. California is one of only six states that
uses an independent redistricting commission, and as a result, we have
fair lines for our districts.
But more than 40 states are at the mercy of politicians who care more
about their party winning than accomplishing real goals in Congress.
To put it simply: Republicans win and the American people lose.
