"Blindly idiotic." "Dumb." "A naïve fool
not fit for office."
These are just some of the words Republican Senator Mark Kirk used to
describe Tammy Duckworth when she called out his Islamophobic rhetoric.
Kirk is resorting to name calling because he's scared — he knows
that Tammy can beat him in November. In fact, he's at the top of
Roll Call's "10 Most Vulnerable Senators" list.

Not only are these attacks on Tammy just plain wrong, they're sexist
as well. "Naïve?" Really? She's an Iraq vet and an
accomplished representative — she is far from naïve.
Of course, this is just more of the same from Kirk, who has described
other women as "desperate and shrill," a "little rich girl,"
and "having a temper tantrum."
This is not language becoming of a senator or, frankly, any adult. Illinois
deserves a senator who will fight for women — not belittle them.
Tammy's going to face a tough campaign against Senator Kirk, but we
know that with our help, she can win.
