A wealthy Vermont Republican who came within a whisper of becoming the state’s governor last election just announced he is running against Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy.
Look, I know Vermont seems like a blue state we can’t lose, but that just isn’t true. The GOP’s new candidate lost his last race there by fewer than 3,000 votes, and this time he’ll have more money and attacks behind him than ever.
Lucas, I ask a lot of you, but this is really important. We’ll never raise the minimum wage or pass paid family leave without retaking the Senate, and we can’t retake the Senate without this seat.
