When you cut off access to health care, there are consequences. And right now, women are paying the price.
Glamour recently published a story called "The Rise of the DIY Abortion" that highlights what some women are being forced to do when they can't access the health care they need.
In states that are aggressively attacking access to reproductive health care clinics, more women are attempting to give themselves an abortion. Last year, there were 700,000 Google searches done in America for "how to self-abort," with options ranging from herbal remedies to using abortion pills found on the black market to physically hurting yourself.
No woman should have to risk her life and health to access basic health care. Donate $3 to help elect pro-choice Democratic women who will always defend a woman's right to choose.
This is why we need to elect pro-choice candidates up AND down the ballot this November.
Because the movement to restrict women's access to reproductive health care starts in the states. And we need more dedicated champions who can stand up against anti-choice bills that shut down clinics and put providers under onerous restrictions or even the threat of jail time for performing abortions.
We also need to keep anti-choice Republicans out of the House, Senate, and White House. Because when Republicans like Donald Trump, Kelly Ayotte, Pat Toomey, and John McCain say they want to overturn Roe v. Wade or defund Planned Parenthood, they're putting women's health and lives on the line.
Help elect the candidates who will defend women. Donate $3 today:
