HE NEEDS MONEY TO FIGHT THE FIGHT

Dear Lucas,

Of all the people I’ve ever met, my father was the most integral to my becoming woman I am today. He taught me about jazz. He taught me how to dance. He taught me all of the little things that individually seem insignificant, but when added up together make a person who they are.

And my father taught by example. He did not tell me to be a good person, he showed me how. My father is the best man I know, for all the little things that make him who he is, and for the big ones too. Because he’s not just a man that taught me about Miles Davis or how to salsa. He’s a man that I’ve never once seen back down from a fight, no matter how tough it’s become.

That lesson is something that my dad also lives by every day. Every day, he proves to me that it’s not only right to take on the tough fights - it’s also possible.

He showed me it was possible when he brought his cases against giants like Trump University and fossil fuel industry for leading blatant schemes of deceit and fraud.

He showed me it was possible when he took on the big banks after the 2008 financial crisis, securing billions in restitution for homeowners who fell victim to predatory foreclosure practices.

And he showed me it was possible with every case that he’s brought to recover stolen wages for fast food workers, defending their right to a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work.

As New York’s chief law enforcement officer, my father works for all of us. And he works tirelessly, standing by his principles and standing up for the people of our state.

He may be tough, but he can’t do it alone. To keep fighting for us all, he needs our support. Chipping in just $5, $10 or $20 today ensures that my father will continue to take on the tough fights for New Yorkers when no one else will.

Thank you,

Catherine Schneiderman
