Friends,
Today, Muslims in New York City and throughout our country are celebrating
Eid al-Fitr, the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Marking an end to the month of fasting, Eid al-Fitr is both a long-awaited
respite to the challenges of the month of Ramadan and an embrace of its
lessons and rewards; a culmination of spiritual renewal that will light
the year ahead.
This is a time of celebration with friends and family and a time of charitable
giving - a clear contrast to the actions of those who sow seeds of division
and discord.
To all the who are celebrating today, I wish you a joyous holiday - Eid Mubarak!
