Lucas,
I know you’ve been getting a lot of emails about how Democrats need
to take back control of the Senate. I want to tell you why that’s
so important.
I’ve started traveling across the country to campaign for folks
like Russ Feingold -- and I’ve met countless people who are fed
up with what Mitch McConnell and the Republicans are trying to do to our country.
Those people get it: every day that the Republican leadership works to
undermine consumer protections or defund women’s health clinics
is a day we’re not working to
help students getting crushed by debt, seniors struggling to get by, and
working families living in poverty.
We need to end this failure of leadership, Lucas, and restore a progressive
direction to the Senate. Will you pitch in to help the DSCC achieve that?
The people I talk to -- both Democrats and Republicans -- simply cannot
believe that their leaders in Washington won’t raise the minimum
wage, won’t give our kids some relief from student loans, and won’t
fight for families and seniors.
Yes, we need to elect a Democrat to the White House in 2016. But no matter
who wins the presidential election this November, so long as the Republicans
control the Senate, they can keep making sure none of those priorities
even get a vote.
We know exactly what we need to do to put this country back on the right track --but we need more Senate Democrats to help us do it.
And that’s why I’m fighting my heart out to help elect Senate
Democrats -- but I can’t do it without your help, Lucas. Will you
