PREDILECTION

After being asked to leave a friend's residence (for attempting to smoke marijuana in front of some kids), Rodney reportedly returned and stabbed his victim in the neck. And when he was convicted of assault in the second degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, Rodney was sentenced to seven years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision.

Although Rodney argued that the Ulster County Court sentence was "harsh and excessive," the Appellate Division, Third Department, didn't agree. Apparently, the guy had an extensive criminal history, including multiple robbery and assault convictions. His "predilection for violence," coupled with the "vicious" and "unprovoked" nature of his most recent offense was enough for the AD3 to affirm the outcome.

That's what friends are for?
