FIGHTING SUBSTANCE ABUSE & ADDICTION

I love it when timing works out—the same week I stood up in Congress to introduce a bill to improve the way our nation looks at mental health—President Obama proposed $1.1 billion in new funding to battle the growing heroin epidemic.

I applaud the President for tackling a problem too few are working on.

Join me in thanking the President for his plan to fight addiction in our communities by signing this thank you note.

Our bill would ensure individuals with mental health conditions and substance use disorders receive the care they require. We want to reduce the stigma of mental health and provide the resources necessary to help those battling addiction get the tools they need to get back on their feet and live a fulfilling, happy, health life.

Chances are you've known someone in your life that has struggled or continues to struggle with substance abuse or addiction. I know I have. That's why this is one of my top priorities in Congress.

Join me today—sign your name to show our compassion for our neighbors and families as they struggle with mental health issues.
