NFL Pro Turned Change Agent Authors Book, Offers Insights on the Power of Reinvention: How to Survive and Thrive Amid Major Life Transitions Relating to Business, Career, Lifestyle, Sports & Relationships
Former NFL running back Terrell Fletcher knows the intimidation of standing
at severe life crossroads, with either choice forcing you to adopt a whole
new outlook on life—he’s done it. When Fletcher left the San
Diego Chargers and his pro football career at large, he was forced to
wholly reinvent himself as his job, his friends and his very identity
had been tied to the sport from childhood. Thus began a tumultuous and
courageous journey to find a new and equally fulfilling path—and
a renewed sense of purpose. The journey wasn’t easy, but on the
vexing voyage Fletcher discovered the value of confronting fear and pushing
limits, however uncomfortable, to reveal innate gifts and create new opportunities.
Today, Fletcher, author of “The Book of You” (Waterfall Press, September, 2016), shares practical principles
for discovering your purpose and transforming your future. It’s
a guidebook for self-discovery intended to help others achieve true authenticity
and meaning—what he regards as the keys to lifelong happiness. With
this in mind, Fletcher is available for interviews and editorials on the
following thought leadership topics (with discussion points applicable
for lifestyle, business, career and sports), including, but not limited
to, the following:

About the Author
Terrell Fletcher, author of “The Book of You,” believes that everyone on Earth has a purpose. With this guiding philosophy, he’s a man on a mission striving to help people discover their calling. To uncover and share their gifts with the world. To go beyond their known limits to live and thrive in the unknown. To live up to their full potential, realize their dreams and, in doing so, positively and proactively impact their communities.
Fletcher doesn’t just talk the talk, he walks the walk. His own
calling commenced in April of 2005 when, having realized a dream of his
own through which he could utilize innate gifts, he was drafted into the
NFL by the San Diego Chargers. There he enjoyed a successful 8-year career
with the team. During this period, Fletcher became a vital and extremely
active part of the community, serving as the Chairman/Spokesman for Jr.
Achievement, volunteering with San Diego County Adoptions and regularly
making meals to feed San Diego’s homeless, among other charitable
and philanthropic endeavors.
Never one to shy away from “tackling’ a challenge, today and with his NFL “activist athlete” years behind him, Fletcher remains a man of action—a bold community leader, organizer and compassionate advocate for those in our society who are marginalized and need an “assist” to help their proverbial voices be heard.
Currently, Fletcher is a steadfast change agent whose full-time vocation is to advocate for others in need while inspiring “the rest of us” to dig deep and “wake up your dream”—to discover what really excites you and to channel that knowledge into action that betters the community around you. As an internationally-regarded motivational speaker and Senior Pastor of the City of Hope International Church—a multicultural, faith-based, global humanitarian organization based in San Diego, Fletcher has engaged and delighted audiences worldwide with why, and how, to do exactly that.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Fletcher is the second of five children. Being
a member of a team, both at home growing up and later on the gridiron,
helped shape Fletcher into the tough and tenacious man he is now. “Football
taught me to push past my personal limits,” says Terrell. “Difficult,
grueling, and even physically challenging times had to be overcome because
of the sense of responsibility I felt I owed to the team.” He also
honed leadership qualities during his in the NFL, noting “Consistency
in character, good performance on my job, being an encourager—all
were noticed and helped me become a leader on the team.”
