Each night as I’ve tuned in to the Republican National Convention,
I’ve been horrified by the racist, bigoted, and flat-out backward beliefs.
Finally it’s sinking in -- this isn’t some far-off possibility
or a bad joke:
This is our new reality. This is the new hate-filled message of Trump’s
Republican party.

Tonight, Trump will take the stage to promote a platform that criminalizes
a woman’s right to choose and seeks to deport both Muslims and Mexicans.
Lucas, this isn’t the America that I want. And I know it isn’t
the America you want.
I’m running for Congress to ensure our country delivers on its promise
of liberty, justice, and opportunity for
everyone and not just a select few.
I know we can beat back the new Republican Party of Trump and continue
to greet progress of this American experiment -- but only if we work together
and ensure everyone does their part.
