Lucas,
September was... exhausting.
Anti-choice Republicans attempted to defund America's most trusted
provider of reproductive health care THREE times and narrowly avoided
an expensive government shutdown.
The House Oversight Committee has been holding hearings on the funding
of Planned Parenthood. They didn't invite anyone from Planned Parenthood
to attend the first one. Then when Planned Parenthood President Cecile
Richards was finally invited, they interrupted her for four hours.
"Defund Planned Parenthood" has become the GOP's new "Benghazi
committee," a charade that wasted $4.6 million taxpayer dollars and
accomplished absolutely nothing. Republican Representative Kevin McCarthy
recently admitted that the Benghazi committee was a political attempt
to undermine Hillary Clinton and had to drop his bid for Speaker of the
House because of it. Now congressional Republicans are playing politics
with Planned Parenthood funding, threatening to use it as a sticking point
when the budget — and debt ceiling — come up again in December.
The idea that you would waste time and taxpayer dollars to attack one
woman's poll numbers is pretty despicable. The idea that you would
waste time and taxpayer dollars to attack millions of women's access
to health care is something else entirely.
If you're fed up with anti-choice Republicans who are hell-bent on
denying health care to millions of Americans, donate $3 so we can replace
them with pro-choice Democratic women in 2016:
