Dear Lucas,
The Washington Post studied US Department of Agriculture data and concluded
that Ventura County is “the most desirable place to live in America.”
I couldn't agree more!
Lucas, I have long pointed out that the unique beauty of Ventura County
would not be possible without our vibrant agricultural economy.
But without access to fresh water, one of the most important economic
drivers in Ventura County -- and the beauty that goes with it -- will
dry up right before our eyes.
Unfortunately, as California’s drought continues to get worse, Republicans
in Congress refuse to do anything about it.
I’m committed to working toward finding lasting solutions that protect
our water supply. Join me and urge Republicans in Congress to do the same >>
Our unique blend of lush greenery, temperate climate, and fertile landscapes
not only make Ventura County the most beautiful place in the country to
live, but it also makes our community ideal for agricultural advancement.
But the GOP would rather turn a blind eye to the effects of climate change
and an historic drought in order to score political points, than advance
common sense solutions.
Republicans in Congress may be content to do nothing, but I’m not. That’s why I’m turning to you: we need to send a clear message
that we won’t be silent when Ventura County’s beauty, economy,
and heritage are at stake.
