There’s been a lot of chaos in Congress lately. Last month, we narrowly avoided another costly government shutdown, and this month we were brought to the brink once again, coming dangerously close to defaulting on our national debt for no good reason.
This is not what the American people elected us to do. I’m focused on the issues that affect the lives of real people, like ending our country’s gun violence epidemic, defending access to women’s health care, improving services for veterans, and creating good jobs by investing in our nation’s crumbling infrastructure.
More than ever, we need a government that works. We can’t afford to be dysfunctional when there’s so much at stake for working families. In Congress, I’m doing everything I can to get results for the American people and make the government work for all of us.
