The family of a mentally ill man killed by cops in 2012 claims the NYPD is covering up circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
Lawyers for Mohamed Bah’s family, which is suing the city and NYPD, want a judge to punish the department for alleged evidence destruction.
“This is the latest in a long line of cases where the city and the NYPD have violated their obligations to investigate police shootings and disclose information,” lawyer Debra Cohen said Monday in Manhattan Federal Court.
Cops fatally shot Bah, an African immigrant, in his home on Sept 25. 2012. Bah's mother called 911 because he was suffering a “mental health crisis” and wanted an ambulance to take Bah to the hospital.
