That was my response when I heard the news that Bobby Jindal was waving the white flag in his quixotic quest to become our next president — and you'd better believe I was biting my lip.
This is a man who continually rebuffed all good-faith efforts to work with the members of Log Cabin Republicans of Louisiana.
This is a man who, when Republicans in the Louisiana State Legislature scoffed at the idea of a "religious freedom" license-to-discriminate bill, signed the statute into law by his own executive order!
This is a man who went so far as to have a leisurely tête-à-tête with a certifiable nutjob who — without exaggeration — stated the Bible commands true believers to kill gays and lesbians — WOW!
NO THANK YOU!
Enough of this nonsense!
I'm not shedding any tears over Governor Jindal's exit from the presidential race. His departure now gives Log Cabin Republicans more time to focus on what really matters: helping our common-sense conservative allies in the House and Senate cruise to victory in 2016.
Some of our staunchest allies in Congress are facing incredibly challenging races next year, and I want to be sure our coffers are loaded for bear to give them the resources they need to WIN.
So I'm asking you to please donate $500, $250, $100 or whatever you can to LCR PAC to support our GOP allies in the House and Senate. We can't waste any time or treasure on distractions — the time to help our friends is NOW.
Richard, the election is less than a year away, and on November 9 of next year, when the returns have been tallied and I see that Log Cabin Republicans allies from coast-to-coast have been elected and re-elected, I only want to have one thing to say:
"Good."
Sincerely,
Gregory T. Angelo
President
