I'm excited to announce our next Off The Sidelines book club pick will be The New York Times best-selling Ashley's War by Gayle Tzemach Lemmon.
Ashley's War tells the true story of 1st Lt. Ashley White Stumpf, who served bravely in Afghanistan as a member of one of the first all-female special operations cultural support teams.
As our military continues to open up combat roles to women, Ashley's War documents some of the women who were on the front lines, paving the way for so many others who have followed in their footsteps.
I recently had the privilege to meet Ashley's War author Gayle Tzemach Lemmon and hear her speak about the importance of these all-female special ops cultural support teams for our operations on the ground.
So, I'm thrilled that we'll have Gayle with us to speak to the Off The Sidelines community about this unforgettable tale of valor, friendship and the bonds of war.
